Agreement

By accessing National Park Passport (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Park Service or any other government agency.

The Service

We provide a free informational guide to U.S. National Parks and optional premium features that let signed-in members track visits, keep private notes and photos, and view a personal progress map. Features may change as the product evolves.

Accounts

You may need a Google account to sign in. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your Google account secure. Provide accurate information and do not impersonate others.

Premium membership & billing

Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Prices shown on the Pricing page apply at purchase. Annual subscriptions renew unless canceled. Lifetime purchases grant ongoing premium access for that account while the Service operates. Taxes may apply. Manage payment methods and cancellations through the Stripe customer portal linked from your Account page. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable once access is delivered.

Acceptable use

• Use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes unless we agree otherwise
• Do not upload unlawful, infringing, or abusive content
• Do not attempt to access another user’s journal, photos, or account data
• Do not scrape, overload, or reverse engineer the Service in a way that harms it
• Do not misuse APIs, authentication, or billing flows

Park information disclaimer

Operating hours, fees, alerts, weather, routes, and other park details are provided on a best-effort basis from third-party sources and may be incomplete or out of date. Always verify safety-critical information with official National Park Service sources before you travel. You assume all risk related to park visits and outdoor activities.

Your content

You retain ownership of notes and photos you upload. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely to provide the Service to you. You represent that you have the rights needed to upload the content.

Intellectual property

The Service’s software, branding, and original editorial content are owned by us or our licensors. Official park names, logos, and government materials remain the property of their respective owners. Third-party map, weather, and park data remain subject to their providers’ terms.

Availability & changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. We are not liable for downtime, data loss beyond reasonable care, or changes to free or premium features, except as required by law or a specific paid commitment.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or if we must do so for legal or security reasons. Provisions that by nature should survive (including disclaimers and limitations of liability) will survive termination.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR PREMIUM ACCESS IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal data and is incorporated into these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the site operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections apply.
